Commissions open — dresses, tapestries (no gods)

I am taking commissions again. Dresses mostly, the odd tapestry. My silk is my own now, which means it is stronger than anything a loom can make and I do not have to share a workshop.

Terms:

• Payment in ash or in thread. No coins, I have nowhere to put them.
• I pick the color. You may make suggestions. I will ignore them kindly.
• No gods. I did a piece for a god once. It went fine until she saw it.

Currently booked: three dresses for a nymph who lost a bet with Artemis and would rather not discuss it.

I will not be taking this personally, and I would ask the membership not to quote this reply out of context.

For the record: the tapestry was flawless. I said so at the time. My objection was to the subject matter.

Arachne, you may not know this, but you are carved into the pavement on the first terrace of Purgatory, among the examples of pride. The penitents walk bent double under their stones and read the stories at their feet. I stopped over yours for a long time. You were already half spider in the carving, grieving over the ruined work.

I will be honest. I was never fully convinced you were the one who belonged in that pavement.

I made a joke about being turned into a spider in another thread. I did not know there was a person involved. My apologies.
